Irish road trip - 7 Day itinerary - Dublin, Cork, Ring of Kerry & Galway

If you are thinking about a road trip in Ireland, here is a sample itinerary with suggestions and highlights for a great trip. This itenerary assumes you will arrive in Irelands main airport Dublin Airport. You can also consider arriving in Cork International Airport.


Arrive in Ireland. If you are arriving from a long haul flight we recommend picking up your rental car and getting some rest before beginning your itenerary.


Day 1: Dublin City


  • Morning: Make your way to the historic Trinity College. Dive into the fascinating world of the Book of Kells and stroll through the peaceful campus. Trinity college boasts an impressive list of alumni including Oliver Wilde and Samuel Beckett.


  • Afternoon: Head to Dublin Castle, a symbol of Ireland's history. Take a leisurely walk through Temple Bar, Dublin's cultural quarter, known for its eclectic mix of art galleries, street performers, and lively pubs.

Day 5: Cork to Kerry


  • Morning: Head to the Ring of Kerry, stopping at Killarney National Park for a stroll or a visit to Muckross House. Absorb the serene beauty of the Lakes of Killarney.
